Neglect Taking Care of your Shih Tzu at Home
Taking care of the Shih Tzu is a great pleasure and at the same
time, it is a very time-consuming effort. Many people love this
breed because it requires such close interaction and because that
interaction builds an indelible bond. This is why this breed is
the favorite of senior people.
Loving a Shih Tzu Is Easy
Shih Tzu care is easy – love, love and love. They do not want
anything more than they want love and attention. As long as you
love them, and love them with a lot of action and verbosity, these
dogs are the happiest beings on the earth. The Shih Tzu can stay
more than an hour waiting for a grooming session to finish. They
are dogs who love to be clean, to be combed and to be handled.
If you really want to shower your care and attention on your Shih
Tzu at home, then the best place for it to sleep would be your
lap.
Shih Tzu care at home needs three main things, (i) love, (ii)
grooming, and (iii) feeding tidbits. The first and foremost thing
is and will remain love. These dogs need love to be happy, to
exist. They love all the attention they can get and can be pretty
jealous and cranky if they have to share that love with anyone
else, human or animal.
The majority of Shih Tzu care at home is grooming. These dogs
need consistent grooming that is done on a daily basis, or at
least once in two days. You cannot imagine having a Shih Tzu without
having a daily grooming routine, a cornucopia of shampoos and
soaps for regular baths and an array of brushes and combs to keep
its coat shiny and beautiful, as well as having the famous top
knot that is so much part of the Shih Tzu care and persona.
The third and most important aspect of Shih Tzu home care is
feeding it. This dog loves to behave like a child and hence, it
will demand all the attention that a child demands. It will ask
and prefer eating your food than dog food and often eats so much
that it has weight problems.
Shih Tzu care dictates that this breed needs all the luxuries
possible for a dog. It will sleep on the bed with you, your lap
or on soft cushions. The Shih Tzu is not finicky about anything
more than it is finicky about cleanliness, comfort and how it
is cared for at home. Whatever the dog will learn from how you
care for it needs to be reinforced with proper Shih
Tzu training.
